Private Equity People Moves - Monday 6th Oct 2008


Lyceum Capital
Lyceum Capital has appointed Simon Hitchcock, Duncan Green, Humphrey Baker and Ian Williams to its investment team. Hitchcock will join the firm in March 2009 from Sovereign Capital, where he currently holds the position of director. Green and Baker have joined the firm as analysts from PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young respectively. Williams currently works at Lyceum as associate partner. He joined from Arbuthnot Securities, where he was a director of corporate finance.

Vision Capital
Vision Capital has appointed David Robinson as chief operating officer. Robinson joins from Ernst & Young, where he has worked for 18 years in various positions, with his most recent post was COO for all E&Y activities across Northern Europe, Middle East, India and Africa.

EVCA
The European Venture Capital Association has hired Ross Butler as its new head of communications. Butler joins the company following eight years a financial journalist and business commentator focusing on the venture capital and private equity industry. In his new role he will be responsible for the development and implementation of EVCA's communications strategy for its members and stakeholders.

ACG
ACG, formerly known as Altium Capital Group, has recruited Eliza Nikolova and Nicola Gobbo. Nikolova joins ACG as investment manager from GE Capital's Healthcare Financial Services, having started her career at Access Capital Partners. Gobbo joins the firm as an analyst, having previously worked at AGF Private Equity and calyon.

Bencis Capital Partners
Bencis Capital Partners has appointed Filip Leflot as partner in its Brussel office. Leflot joins from AS Adventure Group, a Belgian-based leisure retail company, where he has worked for four years. Previously he worked in the corporate finance team at Ernst & Young.

Apax Partners
Apax Partners France has recruited Bernard Bourigeaud as senior adviser. Bourigeaud is the former founder and CEO of Atos Origin and has previously held positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Continental Grain, Deloitte Haskins, Sells France, IT company Axime and CIC.

Phoenix Equity Partners
Phoenix Equity Partners has hired Clarissa Beresford as investment manager. Beesford joins from the investment banking division at JP Morgan, where she has advised on transactions across a range of sectors including industrials, technology, healthcare and consumer.

August Equity
Following 13 years with August Equity, Andrew Hartley has stepped down from his role as managing director. Hartley has spent more than three quarters of his 27-year career in private equity, beginning at 3i before joining Kleinwort, which eventually became August.

Investec
Investec Private Bank has hired Jennifer Macintyre and Catherine Kirchmann as senior investment practitioners. Kirchmann joins from Spencer House Capital Management, where she is currently a marketing associate responsible for he firm's business development. Macintyre joins from Coutts & Co, where she is responsible for investment portfolio design, construction and monitoring together with the provision of credit and cash management solutions.

Dubai International Capital
Dubai International Capital has hired Eric Kump as managing director for its London office. Kump will focus on accelerating the growth of DIC's portfolio and originating new investments. He joins from Merrill Lynch Global Private Equity, where he was a managing director.

Zenit Sgr
Zenit Sgr has appointed Alessandro Solina and Luca Mori as portfolio manager and equity manager respectively. Solina joins the company from Capitalia where he has worked since 2005 and was responsible for overseeing a EUR 30bn portfolio of assets. Mori also joins from Capitalia, where he has worked since 2000 and was responsible for overseeing a EUR 600m portfolio of assets, as well as the firm's EUR 200m Small Cap Italy fund.

Vestar Capital Partners
Vestar Capital Partners has appointed Peter Baumgartner as managing director of Vestar Resources, which is based at the firms Munich office and provides advice and services to portfolio companies. Previously, he was a partner and managing director with Mercer/Oliver Wyman.

Alix Partners
Alix Partners has appointed Dan Murphy as director in its performance improvement practice in London. Prior to joining Alix, Murphy was a retail director in Ernst & Young's transactional advisory services team.
